Cascades Raptor Center

September 30, 2007 by eric · Leave a Comment

These are short profiles of individual raptor species presented to the public at the Cascades Raptor Center. These videos were posted to YouTube as a proof of concept and demonstration of educational use of YouTube. Most of us initially think of YouTube as a playground full of nonsense. It is fascinating to discover it is an great platform for content delivery. I hope you enjoy these short videos. Before I moved the “Peregrine Falcon” video from another YouTube channel to this one it had been viewed over 10,000 times since May 2007!

The Long-EZ

On May 10th, 2006, my birthday, I was taken on a flight from Salem to Madras and back by my friend Dave Koester. This airplane, one of two aircraft he owns, is called a Long-EZ and it looks much like a spaceship. It was an amazing experience. I took my small, highly portable consumer grade Panasonic digital video camera and shot 90+ minutes of video. This is the 12 minute version of my flight over the Cascades to Central Oregon and home again.
